MANTECA, Calif. --- At their April 22, 2020 regular meeting, the Manteca City Council appointed Interim City Manager Miranda Lutzow to be the next City Manager for the City of Manteca.
    Ms. Lutzow has worked in local government for over 10 years, including 7 years in senior leadership positions. She joined the City in July 2019, serving as Director of Administrative Services before being appointed as Acting City Manager in September 2019. Prior to joining the City of Manteca, Ms. Lutzow served in several jurisdictions throughout California’s Central Valley, including the City of Merced, City of Oakdale, and more recently the City of Waterford, where she served as Administrative Services Director. 
    “I am honored and excited to assume the role of permanent City Manager,” exclaimed Lutzow. “I look forward to working closely with City Council and City staff to deliver on Council goals and community needs.”
    Throughout her career in local government, Ms. Lutzow has been active in, and held leadership roles with organizations that support professional development and growth, including League of California Cities (LCC), International City/County Management Association (ICMA), and Municipal Management Association of Northern California (MMANC), where she served as President in 2018. Ms. Lutzow has been recognized by several organizations for her leadership, including the 2017 Women Leading Government (WLG)/MMANC Rising Star Award and 2014 recipient of the California City Management Foundation (CCMF) Wes McClure Scholarship.
    "Miranda brings solid experience to this city and will hit the ground running as the city manager; she is already familiar with the role, many of the issues being addressed, and the City itself. She is a proven leader, with high professional standards, and a track record of getting things done" said Manteca Mayor, Ben Cantu. "We are fortunate to have Ms. Lutzow fill this important leadership position."
    Miranda earned her honors Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with a double major in Political Science and Criminal Justice & Public Policy from University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from California State University, Stanislaus in Turlock, California. 
    Lutzow’s contract is for a 3-year term with an annual salary of $233,500.
