    MANTECA CREATES OUTDOOR ACTIVITY EXPANSION PROGRAMS

    (Manteca, CA) - The City of Manteca understands the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on businesses and has designed programs to help businesses stay viable. Effective immediately, businesses that are eligible and meet all State and County reopening guidelines are encouraged to expand their service areas outside where space and guidelines permit.  Businesses will be able to expand onto sidewalks and into parking spaces adjacent to their business location where minimal ADA compliance, circulation safety, and fire lane requirements can be maintained.

    Business will be allowed to use tents or membrane structures without side walls that are no larger than 120 Sq. Ft. (10’ x 12’) without a permit if the tents are free standing and anchored properly. For assistance with larger outdoor tent structures requiring permits, or, for recommendations for placement of outdoor commercial activities, businesses can contact the City at (209) 456-8522 or email econdev@mantecagov.com.  All businesses using this program will be required to sign a hold harmless agreement with the City of Manteca and send pictures of their outdoor setup prior to beginning outdoor service.

    Program Allows for:

    • Expansion of  activity onto sidewalks where 4ft. of clearance is maintained next to the expansion area;
    • Expansion of  activity into private parking lots areas where disabled parking spaces are not  blocked;
    • Use of Free standing, but securely anchored, 10x 10 or 10x 12 tents without side walls;
    • Use of larger outdoor tent structures with building permit and full site inspections.
