City hosted first Investor Summit on August 18, 2020
STOCKTON, Calif. – On Tuesday, August 18, 2020, the City of Stockton, in partnership with Visit Stockton and the San Joaquin Partnership, hosted its first Investor Summit. The Investor Summit, which was funded through a grant from Accelerator for America, was created with the objective to share opportunities available in Stockton with potential investors.
“The Summit was an opportunity to connect with interested investors and share a glimpse of all that Stockton has to offer,” said Carrie Wright, Director of Economic Development. “We began work on this project at the beginning of the year, before the pandemic. Moving the Investor Summit to a virtual platform allowed us to remind investors that the world may have changed, but Stockton is still open for business.”
The Investor Summit was a collaborative project that touched on topics including working with the City, entrepreneurship and innovation, insight from local investors, and incentive opportunities. Speakers included representatives from City leadership, Visit Stockton, San Joaquin Partnership, CodeStack Academy, Launch Pad, Nautilus, Motiv, BearPaw Equities, CT Realty, Go-Biz, and Cal OZ.
“We are proud of the event and grateful to everyone who helped make the day a success. This would not have been possible without great partnerships and collaboration throughout our City,” stated Carrie Wright. “Stockton offers many unique development opportunities. After the success of this first Summit, we recognize the potential for turning this into an event series and sharing those opportunities with others.”
